The following steps will help you develop a strong grant proposal. (This information is modeled from resources of Austin ISD's grants development division.)
Concept Development and Grant Components
STEP 1: Develop Your Concept
What are you trying to achieve? Who is your target audience? How much money do you need to implement your project or idea? Developing a solid concept will allow you to clearly convey your needs and goals to a prospective funder.
STEP 2: Identify a Grant Opportunity
Review the guidelines to determine an organization’s funding priorities, timeline and reporting requirements. Search our Grant Database for funding opportunities.
STEP 3: Complete an Intent to Submit a Grant Application Form
Found a grant? Complete our online Intent to Submit a Grant Application form.
STEP 4: Grant Proposal Development
Now it's time to develop your grant proposal! Use the following tools to help you complete your application: Concept Development, Proposal Outline Builder, and How to Develop a Logic Model.
STEP 5: Review and Submission
Ask colleagues, administrative staff and the Office of Innovation and Development to review your draft proposal. Contact us through Let's Talk! to ask for a review.
STEP 6: Grant Award
You won the award! Complete the Grant Award Notification form to register the grant and begin the process of accepting and receiving your award.
