Dear Students and Parents,
As I watched the end of the year video with tears streaming down my face, I was able to remember all the precious reasons I love my job. This has been a very different and somewhat difficult year. We started out on a roll with See Ya at the Pole, Vocabulary Parade and running the field with our own “Friday Night Lights” experience at Rider Stadium. We eased into fall with our Reading Camp Out where we enjoyed magical stories, hay rides and smores all accommodated by the world’s greatest teachers! Who could forget Elf Camp at the high school?! We had so much fun with our high school heroes! Winter break was a much needed time to catch our breath and start again with Sweetheart Bingo in February….then came spring. It brought uncertainty and weirdness. We learned new vocabulary words such as social distancing and quarantine. Our parents became our teachers and our teachers became ZOOM experts. Work packets replaced our classroom time together and our hearts were sad when we could no longer be in school. I am sure as we blaze our path to the new normal, we can take away some good things. I saw a lot of family time together that children enjoyed and there were smiles even as the photos of students poured in to teachers. As we close out the 2019-20 school year, I leave with you some thoughts...remember what we learned through this….we can live without ‘things’ and places, but our human contact with one another is essential. I hope we will never take for granted the moments we spend together laughing, crying and learning with one another. Have a great summer CES, I love you all!
